Animation plays a large role in the entertainment industry. Many movies are animated and the techniques used to create animated have become very unique from each other as the years have progressed and new ideas have been explored. The Origins of American Animation collection includes 21 animated films and 2 fragments from 1900-1921. Of these animations are clay, puppet, pen drawing, and cut-out techniques. These animations also demonstrate the social attitudes of early twentieth-century America.

Food Chain
This picture is great for teaching students about the food chain and is simple to follow with the arrows depicting who would eat who and what animal tends to get eaten by another. This picture helps break down how different animals serve as meals to others and can be used as an example when teaching about the life cycle for humans, animals, insects, and all other kinds of creatures.

Butterfly Life Cycle
This can be used to teach young students about the life cycle of butterflies. It is more interesting to look at a cycle then listen to someone talk about the changes, and when a visual is provided, it help those students retain the information better.
